Homemade Healthy Ketchup

Ingredients

  • 500 ml tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp sweetener
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika

Directions

  1. Add the tomato sauce, vinegar, sweetener, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika to a saucepan.
  2. Whisk well until fully combined.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  4. Reduce the heat and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Allow the ketchup to thicken slightly.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning or sweetness if desired.
  7. Let cool completely before transferring to a jar or airtight container.
  8. Store in the refrigerator and enjoy as a healthier ketchup alternative.
